SHARJAH — His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has announced that planning for the new administrative division of Khorfakkan has been completed and will be officially unveiled soon.
The announcement marks another step in Sharjah’s continuing development of the east coast city, where a series of residential, infrastructure and environmental projects are being advanced.
New Administrative Division to Be Announced Soon
Sheikh Sultan said the planning work for Khorfakkan’s new administrative division is now complete. Further details on the division, including the areas and names involved, are expected to be announced at a later stage.
Study Underway for New Residential Area
The Sharjah Ruler also revealed that a study is underway for a project involving the summit of Al Aween Mountain. The proposal would level the mountain summit and develop a residential area capable of accommodating a large number of residents.
Meaningful Names for New Areas
As part of the planning process, Sheikh Sultan stressed the importance of choosing names for areas that carry positive meanings and reflect appropriate cultural and social values.
Khorfakkan’s Development Continues
Khorfakkan has been the focus of significant development in recent years, spanning housing, roads, tourism facilities, landscaping and public spaces. The new administrative division is expected to support the city’s future growth and organisation as development continues.
Further information on the administrative boundaries and the proposed Al Aween Mountain residential project is expected once the relevant studies and official announcements are completed.
